Old Family Favorite - Spanish Rice

Ingredients
6 strips of bacon
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/2 cup chopped green bell pepper
1 can (16 oz.) whole tomatoes, undrained
3 cups cooked rice
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
Directions
Dice bacon and fry in a skillet until crisp. Remove bacon and drain on paper towel.
In the remaining bacon drippings, add onion and bell pepper and cook until onion is tender.
Stir in bacon, whole tomatoes, rice, salt and pepper. Simmer, uncovered, on low heat for
15 minutes to incorporate all the flavors.
Can Substitue Bacon with ground round
