want to say Hello and Welcome. to DAY SEVEN in your 7 Day Online Marketing & Financial Freedom Course.
This has been the most difficult of all the seven steps to success - there are so many vital things I have not
yet covered - I may have to extend this training beyond the seven days. However, the main topic here today is so very, very
important to success. I hope you take it to heart. Actually I am going to take parts of this lesson from one that I
wrote some time ago. I seems to clearly make the point that I need to state here and now and it is vital for us to
learn this lesson.
As many of you know, I have been networking many years and with my first attempt at network marketing, in less than one year,
I earned a new T-Bird. Was it because of my vast knowledge of network marketing. NO, I was new at network marketing. But I had one vital
quality for success and that was being PERSISTENT.
Further... in my years of Network Marketing..... I have met, studied, and worked with many wealthy, successful, some famous, and persistent people.
You see I have had a chance to learn and, in some cases, observe what has
made many of the these wealthy people great
in this wonderful industry that we call network
marketing, as well as, other industries. It wasn't what you probably think.
It wasn't because they were better marketers,
or could close the deal with just about every
lead that came across their table, or was better at their work... but rather
because of something much more basic.
Everyone had acquired a skill vital to being SUCCESSFUL
in network marketing or whatever their area of interest.
I have watched and listened to them and every
single one of them teach this one singular idea.
What was it?
Staying in the game - PERSISTENCY!!!
Sticking it out until the future that they had
visualized had found a way to manifest itself
into reality.
The Power of Persistence Is A Lesson We All
Need To Take Seriously.
None of the following people which I admire... did not have success given to them
on a silver platter.
However, some of my best examples of Persistence, the people are not in network marketing but each of them had to fight and
scratch their way to the top of their chosen hill.
They were just too bull headed to quit.
While others have failed they have made it up in
their mind that they were going to find a way to
make it work no matter how long or how much energy
the process took.
While living in San Diego, quite a few years ago, I became a big fan of the Los Angeles Lakers and spent many, many, many hours watching them
win over and over again. I was especially impressed with one particular player ...... impressed, perhaps I should say I was mesmerized by this terrific player who was always #1. Yes, I was fascinated by his every winning performance and I was compelled to watch every game in which he played.
Have you heard of Magic Johnson? Back in the day, he was winning every game and it was not simply a persona of being a winner that mesmerized me, but how and why he was, at that time, always #1. For many years I was a loyal fan and learned much about Magic.
Magic lost 4 NBA final championships; however, it didn't hold him back.
During his basketball career he was Elected to Naismith Memorial
Basketball Hall of Fame (2002); NBA champion (1980, '82, '85, '87, '88);
NBA Finals MVP (1980, '82, '87); NBA MVP (1987, '89, '90); Nine-time All-NBA First Team (1983-91);
All-NBA Second Team (1982); 12-time All-Star; All-Star MVP (1990, '92); Olympic gold medalist (1992);
One of 50 Greatest Players in NBA History (1996).
Magic did all of this while maintaining a childlike enthusiasm born of a pure love of sport and competition.
Magic had PERSISTANCE, CONSISTENCE, ENTHUSIASM, and a STRONG DESIRE to be the best.
Magic Johnson accomplished virtually everything a player
could dream of during his 13-year NBA career, all of which was spent with the Los Angeles Lakers.
Magic was, also, honored as the #1 point guard of all times.
If there was one aspect of Johnson's game that I loved to watch, it was his brilliant passing skills...
There were times when I saw him throw passes and I was not sure where he was going. Then one of our guys catches the ball and scores,
and I do a double take....... it was MAGIC.
As a youngster, Magic said he passed the time by playing basketball. "Junior," or "June Bug" as his neighbors called him, was on the court by 7:30 many mornings.
"I practiced all day," Johnson told USA Weekend. "I dribbled to the store with my right hand and back with my left."
If we had the persistence and enthusiasm of Magic Johnson..... Imagine what magical things we could accomplish with our online business.
Have you ever heard of Michael Jordan?
Be Like Mike
Michael Jordan, who I admire very much, is one of the greatest, if not the greatest, basketball players of all times... who has persistence, mental toughness,
and is optimistic about everything.
He said about himself:
I worked when others were eating
I worked when others were sleeping
I worked when others were playing
He is PERSISTENT about being the best and he always worked hard
It has made him very successful and very wealthy.
Michael has retired from basketball and is now a very, very successful business man.
Morris Goodman is another good example of PERSISTENCE.
I have known
Morris Goodman personally for many years. When I first
met Morris he owned a successful insurance agency in Virginia Beach... then
he had an airplane
crash, many years ago... many thought he would die; however, he fought hard and survived.....
Morris became known as the Miracle Man...
Now... he doesn't look like the same person, doesn't sound
like the same person, but his persistence paid off.....
he's back and with his handicaps, he is very successful
again and there is even a movie about him...... now he is a
motivational speaker making excellent money and.....
Morris is one of the teachers in 'The Secret,' and we
can learn much from Morris. Persistence!!!
If you google "The Miracle Man" you can find Morris, with his wife and little dog and listen to Morris speak.
Naturally with all he went through, he does not sound as he did before the airplane crash...... however, he
does his motivational speaking tours. Meet my friend, Morris
Quite a few years ago my parents retired in Ft Myers, Florida and, at the time, I lived in Florida and worked at the Space Center
and, of course, went to Ft Myers often to visit my parents. I found that there was a Thomas Edison Museum in Ft. Myers and I visited it many times.
In addition to all his research and hundreds of inventions, artifacts and special exhibits... there are 20 acres of the beautiful Botanical Gardens.
So whenever you are in the Ft. Myers areas, you might want to drop by.
Actually it was the winter retreats of Thomas Edison and Henry Ford... and now following the legacy of the two famous entrepreneurs, there are unlimited
opportunities here.
It has an education program where science, history and the arts are all combined in the education programs of the Edison & Ford Winter Estates.... which follows the Florida State Standard Curriculum giving unlimited opportunities for discovery, invention and innovation...
Henry Ford and the birth of Ford Motor Company and the Model T..... Henry Ford definitely was PERSISTENT and his amazing mass production techniques championed and eventually allowed Ford Motor Company to turn out one Model T every 24 seconds.
The great Thomas Edison . . . Who it took many 1000s of tries before figuring out the
formula for the incandescent light bulb. Now . . . For him, it's over and, OF COURSE, we are so very appreciative of his PERSISTENCY.
His struggle is done and we all have benefited by the
concreteness of purpose of this great individual.
The same will happen for you if you just make up your
mind that it will.
Here is how you have to think about your business if you
want to 100% guarantee you succeed in the dog eat dog
world of network marketing.
You have to say to yourself:
'Even if it takes me days and days or months and months to figure it out..... my
future is worth the struggle and I'm committed to it.'
Simply set out and make it happen.
If you carry this thought with you through the struggles
that await..... there is no way for you to fail, and
some may even find confidence enough in your story to
inspire them to do the same.
Be a trend setter. Be a leader. Be an inspiration.
I love this famous story of persistency:
During World War II, England was staring down the barrel of the Nazi
gun. She was on the verge of being overrun by the Hitler
war machine. Bombs were falling everywhere. People were
dying, fires were raging and supplies were dwindling.
Only a narrow body of water, the English Channel, stood
between England and the ferocious hordes of Nazi Germany.
Sir Winston Churchill, the great wartime Prime Minister
of England, was asked to give the main address at an
institution of learning. After an illustrious introduction
to this amazing leader, Churchill slowly approached the
podium and the audience settled down to hear this word
wizard, this consummate master of elocution and the
English language.
As he steadied his ample frame at the microphone, he
surveyed the audience, the students.
Churchill then gave the shortest speech of his illustrious
career, a searing presentation of only six words.
He thundered, 'Never give up! Never, never, never!'
Then he sat down.
'Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence.
Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful
individuals with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius
is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full
of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone
are omnipotent.'
